Spent the last week with a cold that will not cease, which reached its climax Friday night when I got home from Stockholm.. Pretty nice to be home a couple of days now… Resting..
..and good to be home in Gothenburg a couple of days now.. Last week went: Gbg – Sthlm – Umeå – Gbg – Öland – Gbg! So now it´s good to be in the studio with my very good friends mr PSR-6, MS2000B and miss Lucina as todays line up.. Rolands Lucina as MIDI controller due to its superior flexibility and move-around-as-I-play features. Perhaps it because I never got to play guitar as I child, but there´s something about the ability to move around when you play… Just great!

Fibes are ready to go on tour 2012! A five-day rehearsal last week, with the last two as production rehearsals at Mölndals theater, and we´re good to go.. Played some jazz also,.. in Gothenburg and Falkenberg, and tomorrow I´m leaving for Kalmar with the same purpose. And last but surely not least, in the end of last week, we finally kick started our beloved Hall/Brandt/Reivén session again… fun fun fun.. We´ve managed to put some really great songs together I think… Hard, beautiful, tight, brittle, naive, and uncompromising.. 11 songs, created just by playing really long and unplanned sessions together, hopefully in an album format this year!…

One rehearsal and three gigs last week. Started with a Gothenburg session with Fibes on Monday, followed by Obaren, Stockholm. Then the trio went on a mini weekend west coast tour as a duo, due to our drummer who called in sick at the last minute.

Squeezed to the max a la metal mastering
..usually I play on a Grand Piano or an Upright when we do our trio concerts.. Surprise surprise when we arrived at the church of Starby and a Roland 3500S stood there waiting.. … Straight back to the 80´s.. Elec Piano nr 2, turn up the Hall Reverb to max, and there you have it.. Peter Cetera, all the Whitney ballads… “..and that´s what friends are for..” Remarkable sustain by the way!.. you just play a chord and it stays on forever… anyhow, a bit strange to play our music on that kind of instrument but we pulled it off… Another weird but funny thing was the 4 pieces of Läkerol that was placed on the piano for me… thanks, but no thanks..
80`s ballad maschine
.. went down to the “Cellar Room Studio” with Martin Öhman and his “7 Peace Orchestra” for a second recording session for the second upcoming album. Great vibe and great music will hopefully turn into a great album in a not so distant future..
